Renewal of MCH Registration

For most Homoeopaths, the once in 5 years renewal of Registration Certificate with the Maharashtra Council of Homoeopathy poses new questions and challenges.

Often intertwined with:
Degree update (instructions coming soon)
&
Name change (instructions coming soon)

Thankfully, with the times – MCH has also upgraded their office and website.
One need not go to the swanky new office at all!
The renewal can be done right from the comfort of your home.

Phase 1

Before you begin for renewal please keep the following things handy:

  1. Original Registration Certificate
  2. 1 passport size photo – scanned on your computer
  3. Aadhar card scan on your computer – front and back BOTH on 1 page – as JPG image (not PDF of e-Aadhar)
  4. Passport scan
  5. PAN card scan
  6. Scan of your signature on a blank piece of paper.
  7. 2 A4 size blank papers for printing
  8. 1 big green cloth courier envelope for posting
  9. Netbanking details / Debit Card / Credit card for payment.
Phase 2
Now navigate to :
Click on ‘Renewal’ in the Right hand side column.
You will be asked to Login.

If you haven’t already registered on the MCH Website please do so by clicking on ‘Create Account’.

Once you have successfully logged in you will immediately need few details from your Registration Certificate (Number and date of Registration) – and your date of birth.
Once you enter that, it will take you to the Application page where you must enter all the details asked for.
After that, please upload EACH image as required – viz. Passport sized photo, Aadhaar card scan etc.
If you are unable to upload any of these please check if the file format is jpg or jpeg. and check the SIZE of the file.
To make the images smaller in size:
If you are using Windows – the default Paint application will help you resize the image. Usually the 2nd box on the top ribbon, left hand side.
If you are using Mac – the default Preview option has a ‘Change size’ feature under Tools. Very convenient.
Keep reducing the pixels or resolution (600 x 400) till the file size is under 200 to 400 kb.
If none of this works, one can try an online image resize tool like : https://resizeimage.net/
Caution – do this at your own risk!
After this once you submit the application you will get to a page where you can PRINT your own application.
Please PRINT the application immediately on a blank regular A4 sized paper. It need not be a colour print.
Also, please SAVE the application as PDF.
Phase 3
Go back to the MCH site on the right hand side bottom of the bar, click on Pay Now.
Make sure you have your Application number and Netbanking details / Debit Card / Credit Card handy.
It will lead you to the SBI Payment Gateway.
Follow the instructions given by MCH here – in this PDF document.
It is very detailed and they have provided a very easy to understand instructions with screenshots.
Do NOT forget to take a PRINT of the Payment Receipt.
Phase 4
Once you have a print out of
1. Application Form
2. Payment Receipt
attach it with ORIGINAL REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE and POST it / Courier it to the MCH office.
Use a big A4 size green cloth envelope. Do NOT fold the documents,
MCH Address is :
Maharashtra Council of Homoeopathy.
The Registrar,
235 PENINSULA HOUSE,
3RD FLOOR,
DR. D.N. RD,
Fort
Mumbai – 400001

Do NOT forget to mention YOUR address on the envelope. You can send via Courier (Vichare / Professional / DTDC / Maruti or any such) or even by SPEED POST from your nearby post office.
End of process.
Usually within 15 days you get a SMS update as well as the original registration certificate is re-stamped (extension of 5 years) and sent back to your address.

In case that does not happen in 15 days –
please call MCH on Help-line: 022-22704400 (Help Line Number is available from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm)
or email them with application details at : mail@mchmumbai.org

    Can we give it personally

  • Dr. Suraj A. Dhirwani

    March 21, 2020

Yes. That option was always available. This is just an additional ease of use that has been made possible by MCH.

You can always go over to their office witnessing the beauty of old Mumbai getting covered up by the modern metro en route.

I suggest you should call up MCH and ask for the status. Did you send your documents to them via post? or is it stuck on SBI Payment Gateway?

    Hello ,
I have sent my documents a month ago and still have not received the the original back, I have called but no one is picking calls at MCH.
Can anyone help. What should I do now?

  • Dr. Suraj A. Dhirwani

    September 22, 2020

If you sent the documents via courier or post – first step would be to track that and check WHO & WHEN took delivery of the same.
There should be a name and number on the receipt.

Second step would be to EMAIL MCH – since they are not responding to phone calls.
Do mention application number and the courier/post AWB number in the email (attach POD if possible) – this will help them track it.

    Thanks for replying Dr.Suraj,
I have sent through India speed post and they have no source to show who recieved the courier; however, it was delivered for sure to the exact address mentioned on the envelope. I have already sent emails to MCH giving all details and also the courier details, but there is no response from their side. The courier reached MCH on August 13,2020.
Can MCH be contacted on any other number except for the one given on their website? Due to the pandemic I am not able to visit the centre, hence worried.

  • Dr. Suraj A. Dhirwani

    April 30, 2021

Please check with the Date of Birth as mentioned on your certificate. Sometimes that is the issue. Please input it in the exact format using the date picker. Usually solves the problem

    Hello Dr. Suraj,
A big thank you for describing the renewal process in detail. I would like to know the amount of penalty for the delay in renewal bcz I am late by 1.5yr.
Also can we go personally to submit all the documents?

  • Dr. Suraj A. Dhirwani

    June 21, 2021

Thank you for your warm words of appreciation.
Late fees was ₹500 – but this was in the days when the website was not as active as it is now.
Now, you will see this component as part of your payment structure on the website itself.

    Do give it a try.

1.5 years – that is a lapse BC (Before COVID)?

Given the current level of Lockdown in Mumbai, the office might be open. Better to call and confirm before you embark on that journey.

Thank u so much for your prompt reply Dr. Suraj. I tried calling on both the land-line numbers available. After trying multiple times finally someone picked up the call. Answered all my queries hurriedly. I was told that usually no one is allowed to come personally but after expressing my hesitation to courier original certificate, unwillingly said that OK you can come.
Now I'm confused wether they will really accept my documents or not, if I go personally.

  • Dr. Suraj A. Dhirwani

    July 6, 2021

Well, I am glad you got a reply! Either you can chose to courier it – like everyone has (successfully so, I may add).
If you do go, they have no reason to reject outright.

Once you do send the documents, you WILL need to pursue them and track the 'return' diligently.

If you use a good courier company, you will get detailed tracking with a proper signature on the POD.
You can also continue track the application on the MCH website (albeit in a deferred timeline).
